We've rebuilt how images load on public profiles. The frame and text paint instantly, and avatars, banners, gallery items and documents stream in as you scroll.
A profile that takes three seconds to show a name might as well not exist. After hearing from users on slower networks, we've completely overhauled how images load on public CigyID pages.
Text and frame first — always
Your name, title, bio, quick actions, social links and section cards now render the moment HTML arrives. Nothing waits for an image to download.
Images stream in as you scroll
- Every avatar, banner, gallery photo, document tile, link preview and issuer logo is now wrapped in a smart lazy-loading component.
- An IntersectionObserver only kicks off the image download 200 px before it enters the viewport.
- While we wait, a soft sage placeholder holds the exact aspect ratio — so nothing jumps around.
- When the image arrives, it fades in over 300 ms instead of popping.
What it feels like
On a typical mid-range Android, time-to-first-meaningful-paint on a public profile dropped from ~1.6 s to under 400 ms in our internal tests. On flaky 3G, the difference is even more dramatic — you're reading the bio while the avatar is still on its way.
